I never go to a bookstore “to browse.” I know myself better than that.
Quinn will try and stop me but he never succeeds. And I usually convince him to buy a few books as well.
I actually stopped going to bookstores with the intent to “browse” at all because feeling overwhelmed by all the choices and worried that I would spend too much made me really anxious. I’d go in, but I would just go immediately to some books I’d read before and re-read them, and then leave. I always figured that the high I got when I walked into a bookstore with money was probably similar to what gambling addicts feel.
I once spent $250 in one trip. I have a problem.
I left with 6 books one time..
Once, I emptied out my entire purse right down to the spare change rolling around so that I could buy a stack of books.
