Basically, for reasons that are stupid (of course!) and take a long time to describe, the Westboro Baptist Church protested outside my hometown’s high school today. (As I understand it, it boils down to: There were two girls PDAing. They were told, “No PDA.” Everyone else was told, “No anti-gay douchebaggery.” There was a newspaper article written [ack.] Apparently the second part of that stance was what caught the eye of a certain miserable fucking excuse for a church.)

My 3,000-person, extremely conservative, southwestern Iowa town, which just welcomed back eight Army soldiers from the same unit.
I was told that they actually had an assembly at school on Tuesday or Wednesdayto make sure no one went out and punched them.
